Linadapa
Each film-coated tablet contains linagliptin+ dapagliflozin .
Blister pack of 1 x 15 tablets.
Linagliptin + dapagliflozin is a once-daily, oral fixed-dose combination for type 2 diabetes mellitus (t2dm). Dapagliflozin, an sglt2 inhibitor, reduces blood sugar by promoting urinary glucose excretion, while linagliptin, a dpp-4 inhibitor, increases incretin levels, enhancing pancreatic insulin secretion and reducing glucagon levels. This dual action delivers effective glycemic control, cardiovascular and renal protection, and supports weight loss
As prescribed by physician/specialist .
Indicated for the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus (t2dm), especially in patients inadequately controlled by metformin, to improve glycemic control, reduce hba1c, and lower cardiovascular and renal risk .
Common adverse effects: genital or urinary tract infections, nasopharyngitis, headache, increased urination, hypoglycaemia (usually with other glucose-lowering drugs), and mild gastrointestinal symptoms. Most events are mild and transient
Dapagliflozin blocks sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 (sglt2) in the kidney, increasing urinary glucose excretion and lowering blood glucose. Linagliptin inhibits dpp-4 enzyme, raising incretin hormones, boosting insulin release, and inhibiting glucagon secretion . Complementary glucose-lowering from dual mechanisms enhances efficacy .
