About the Formulation

Amoxycillin and potassium clavulanate oral suspension class: antibiotic (β-lactam group) form: dry syrup (powder) — reconstituted with water before use.

Age Group

Pediatric dose: usually calculated by amoxycillin content → commonly 20–40 mg/kg/day in divided doses (every 8–12 hours).

Duration of Intake

5 to 7 days

In management of urti, otitis media & pneumonia.

Mechanism of Action

The amoxicillin and potassium clavulanate oral suspension works through a combination of two mechanisms: amoxicillin acts as a traditional antibiotic that kills bacteria by inhibiting cell wall synthesis, while potassium clavulanate acts as a beta-lactamase inhibitor that prevents bacteria from destroying amoxicillin.
